Role debut in Offenbach’s ‘Les Contes d’Hoffmann’ at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía

Pretty Yende launches into the New Year with her highly anticipated role debuts as Olimpia, Antonia, Giulietta, and Stella in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía. Employing a richly suggestive visual language, director Johannes Erath examines the fate of a man who longingly stretches out his hand for love, but who pulls back when it threatens to become real. Marc Minkowski conducts.

On January 20, 23, 25, 28, & 31, Ms. Yende will share the stage with Paula Murrihy as Nicklausse / La Muse, John Osborn as Hoffmann, Alex Esposito as Lindorf / Coppelius / Le Docteur / Le Capitaine, Moses Marin as Spalanzani, Tomislav Lavoie as Crespel / Maître Luther, Marcel Beekman as Andrès / Cochenille / Frantz / Pittichinaccio, and Roger Padullés as Nathanaël.
