The soprano performed alongside members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra with Maurizio Benini conducting. Colbert introduced the soprano with the cover her new album “A Jounrey,” which was released by Sony Classical and includes music from Bellini, Rossini and Delibes.
Yende made her Met debut in 2013 when she stepped in for Nino Machaidze in Rossini’s “Le Comte Ory.” Since then she has been performing around the world in important new productions and revivals. At the Met she has been a fixture since her debut performing Pamina in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflote” and is scheduled to sing both Rosina and Juliette in Gounod’s “Romeo et Juliette” this season. She recently performed Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” to great acclaim at the Paris National Opera and is scheduled to return to the Royal Opera House for Adina in Donizetti’s “L’Elisir d’Amore.” Her season ends with a rare new production of Auber’s “Fra Diavolo” at the Opera di Roma. She stars alongside John Osborn and Sonia Ganassi.”
